About this tool

Final price = price × (1 − discount ÷ 100) × (1 − extra discount ÷ 100). An extra discount is applied on the already reduced price, so “40% + 10% extra” is a total of 46% off, not 50%: ₹2,499 becomes ₹1,499.40 and then ₹1,349.46, saving ₹1,149.54.

For buy X get Y free offers you pay for X items and take home X + Y, so the effective price per item = price × X ÷ (X + Y) and the effective discount = Y ÷ (X + Y). Buy 1 get 1 is 50% off; buy 2 get 1 is 33.3% off — but only if you actually need all the items.

Is 40% + 10% the same as 50% off?

No. The 10% applies after the 40%, so the total is 46% off.

How do I calculate a discount percentage?

Discount % = (original price − sale price) ÷ original price × 100.

Is buy 2 get 1 free better than 30% off?

Buy 2 get 1 equals 33.3% off per item, so it is slightly better — if you need three items.
