About this tool
Alphabetical sorting uses “natural” order, so “Item 2” comes before “Item 10” — the way people expect, not the way plain computer sorting does it. Numeric sorting looks for the first number in each line, so lines like “₹450 – Lunch” sort by amount; lines without a number go to the end.
Shuffle uses your browser’s cryptographic random generator, which makes it fair for picking a random order for presentations, turns or seating.
Frequently asked questions
How do I sort a list alphabetically?
Paste the list and click “A → Z”. Keep “Ignore case” on so that lowercase and capitalised words are mixed correctly.
Why does numeric sort differ from A–Z?
A–Z compares text, so 100 can come before 20 in some tools. Numeric sort compares the actual numbers: 20 before 100.
Is shuffle truly random?
It uses a Fisher–Yates shuffle with crypto.getRandomValues, so every order is equally likely.
