About compressing to this size

A 10 KB limit is common for scanned signatures on exam and job forms. Signatures are mostly white paper with thin ink lines, so they compress very well — crop tightly around the signature first and the result stays sharp even at 10 KB.

How it gets to exactly 10 KB: the tool tries different JPEG quality levels and keeps the highest one whose file is still under 10 KB, so the result usually lands just below the limit (for example 9–10 KB). Only if quality alone can’t get small enough does it shrink the image dimensions, a little at a time.

Tip: Crop away the empty paper around a signature before compressing; less area means more quality per KB.

Frequently asked questions

How do I reduce a photo to 10 KB?

Drop the photo into the box above. The target is already 10 KB; download the result when it appears. It will be 10 KB or slightly less.

Will my photo look blurry at 10 KB?

The tool always keeps the best quality that fits. Faces and documents stay clear at common form sizes; very large photos may be scaled down slightly to fit.

Why is my file a little smaller than 10 KB?

Portals reject files even 1 byte over the limit, so the tool stays safely under 10 KB instead of going over.

Are my photos uploaded to a server?

No. The compression runs entirely in your browser, so your photos never leave your phone or computer.

Does it work on mobile?

Yes — open this page on your phone, tap the box, pick a photo from your gallery and download the result.
