About this tool
Cropping removes the parts of a photo you don’t want and changes its shape to fit where it’s going: a 1:1 square for an Instagram post or WhatsApp DP, 4:5 for a tall Instagram post, 16:9 for a YouTube thumbnail or presentation, and 9:16 for Reels, Stories and Shorts. Pick a ratio and the box keeps that shape while you drag the corners.
The crop is cut from the original pixels, so no quality is lost — the result is simply smaller. For exact jobs, type X, Y, width and height in pixels. All processing happens on your device, which also makes it quick on a phone.
Frequently asked questions
How do I crop a photo to a square for Instagram or WhatsApp DP?
Choose “1:1 Square”. The largest square that fits is selected; drag it over the part you want and click Crop.
Does cropping reduce quality?
No. The selected pixels are copied exactly; only the parts outside the box are removed. Saving as JPG does apply normal JPG compression.
Can I crop on my phone?
Yes. Drag the box with your finger; drag the orange handles to resize.
Is my photo uploaded?
No. The crop runs inside your browser and the photo never leaves your device.
