Speech to Text — voice typing in Hindi & English

Speak and watch your words appear. Works in Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge with Hindi, Indian English and many other languages.

Press Start and allow microphone access when your browser asks.

ℹ️ Voice typing uses your browser’s speech recognition service (Google in Chrome, Microsoft in Edge), which processes the audio on its servers. This website never receives or stores your audio or text.

How to use the Speech to Text (Voice Typing)

  1. Choose your language (Hindi, English India and more).
  2. Press “Start voice typing” and allow the microphone.
  3. Speak — then copy, edit or download the text.

About this tool

Voice typing is often three times faster than typing on a phone keyboard — great for drafting WhatsApp messages, emails, notes, school assignments and social media posts. Choose Hindi (hi-IN) to get text in Devanagari, or English (India) for English with Indian names and places recognised better.

Speak clearly in short phrases and pause briefly between sentences. In English you can say “comma”, “full stop”, “question mark” or “new line” to add punctuation. Your text is kept in this browser so it isn’t lost if the page reloads.

Frequently asked questions

Which browsers support voice typing?

Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge on computers and Android work best. Safari on recent iPhones may work. Firefox doesn’t support speech recognition yet.

Can I type in Hindi with my voice?

Yes. Select “हिन्दी — Hindi” and speak; the text appears in Devanagari script.

Is my voice recorded or stored?

This website doesn’t receive your audio. Your browser sends it to its own speech service (Google or Microsoft) to convert it to text, under that company’s privacy policy.

Why does it say the microphone is blocked?

Click the lock or camera icon in the address bar, allow the microphone for this site, and press Start again.
