About this tool
This tool uses the speech engine already built into your browser and operating system (the Web Speech API), so there is no account, no word limit and no cost. The list of voices depends on your device: Chrome and Edge usually include Hindi (hi-IN) and English (India) voices; on Android you can add more languages under Settings → Text-to-speech output.
It’s great for proofreading (you hear mistakes your eyes skip), learning pronunciation, and listening to long articles. Downloading the speech as an MP3 isn’t possible with the browser’s built-in voices — they only play aloud.
Frequently asked questions
Does it support Hindi?
Yes, if your browser has a Hindi voice. Chrome and Edge on Windows and Android usually do. Choose a voice marked hi-IN and paste Hindi text.
Can I download the audio as MP3?
No. Browser voices can only play aloud; they don’t provide an audio file. You can record the playback with a screen or audio recorder if you need a file.
Is my text sent to a server?
This page doesn’t send it anywhere. Some browsers use online voices (for example Google or Microsoft “Natural” voices), in which case the browser’s own speech service processes the text.
Why did it stop in the middle?
Some browsers stop very long utterances, so the tool splits text into sentences. If it still stops, press Speak again or try another voice.
